Indiana Health Centers, Inc. (IHC) is a mission-driven organization providing high-quality, affordable healthcare to underserved and uninsured populations since 1977. At IHC, a Federally Qualified Health Center, we specialize in integrated care which means having access to essential services to meet the needs of patients we serve in the community. With ten healthcare centers and eight Women, Infants, and Children nutrition program locations throughout Indiana, we offer primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare services to community-based patient populations that are diverse in age, educational background, and income level.

This role is responsible for leading all clinical programs and services, and directing, managing, and supervising all licensed and certified clinical providers/personnel within the IHC system. The CMO/CCO ensures that care delivery at all health center sites meets the highest standards for each clinical discipline and is aligned with IHC’s federally approved scope of practice, mission, and regulatory requirements. The CMO/CCO advises the CEO and the Board of Directors on clinical standards, quality of care, and compliance, and is a key thought leader for the organization.

The CMO/CCO plays a key leadership role in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-quality medical and behavioral health providers who align with the IHC’s mission and values. The CMO/CCO actively partners with Human Resources and executive leadership to identify workforce needs, participate in strategic recruitment efforts, and cultivate a positive clinical culture that attracts top talent. The CMO/CCO ensures that provider candidates meet clinical excellence standards and fosters an environment that supports professional development, provider engagement, and long-term retention.
The CMO/CCO collaborates closely with health center operations and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure effective implementation of policies, evaluate performance, and continuously improve outcomes.
