Job Description

The Downtown Y is looking for an experienced Level 1 certified CrossFit trainer who is both motivated and knowledgeable in teaching and implementing CrossFit programing. Must be able to provide CrossFit coaching to groups and individuals in a manner that promotes and exemplifies the core values and mission of the YMCA. The trainer will encourage, teach correct movements, cue corrections, and motive others for improvements within an athlete's adaptive needs.

• Provides energizing, fun, safe, and educational CrossFit training to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Provides a clean and well-maintained wellness center, including knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance and repairs.

• CrossFit Level 1 certification
• CPR, First Aid, AED, national accredited certification in personal training.
• At least one year of personal training experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred.

• Ability to conduct training sessions and activities.
• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including demonstrating exercises, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
