Equality Charter School is seeking candidates to fill two full-time Custodian roles. Please visit our website at

Responsibilities:

• Must have basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry, masonry, and plumbing.

• Maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition; clean classrooms, cafeterias, lounges, offices, libraries, gymnasiums and other facilities as assigned; empty waste receptacles and pencil sharpeners; remove gum, debris and graffiti as needed.
• Delivers various items (Weighing up to 75lbs) (e.g., supplies, mail, packages, furniture, meals, etc.) for the purpose of distributing materials to the appropriate parties.
• Clean and disinfect drinking fountains and restroom facilities including sinks, toilets and urinals; stock dispensers with towels, soap, toilet paper and other items; clean mirrors, tile and windows; unclog drains and toilets.
• Pick up paper and other debris from school grounds, walkways and areas adjacent to school facilities; sweep concrete surfaces adjacent to school building.
• Lock and unlock doors, gates and windows as appropriate; turn lights on and off as needed; maintain security of assigned areas according to established guidelines; set alarms as appropriate.
• Perform a variety of routine general maintenance and non-technical repairs to buildings, fixtures, walls, floors, equipment and furniture as assigned.
• Prepare classrooms and multi-purpose rooms for special events or meetings; set-up and assemble chairs, tables and other furniture and equipment for special events and activities; clean up furniture, equipment and debris following these events.
• Participate in other assigned activities such as moving and arranging furniture, cleaning and restoring campus facilities during vacation periods and delivering materials to various locations.
• Communicate with other staff, faculty, administrators and various outside agencies to exchange information and resolve custodial related issues and concerns as necessary.
• Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by their supervisor.
• Operate carpet and upholstery cleaning equipment
• Operate mechanical cleaning and floor scrubbing equipment
• Strip and wax all floor surfaces
• Collect and transport waste materials to designated areas
• Obtain stock and maintain inventory of supplies in accordance with specific instructions

Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000 individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate including skillset, experience, qualifications, etc.
