The Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research (OSVCR) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated data analyst to support the growing research analytics portfolio across the University. This entry-level position plays a key role in advancing the University's data-driven decision-making by assisting with routine analytics, data preparation, and reporting tasks. The data analyst will work closely with senior analysts to clean, structure, and validate data from a variety of internal research systems and external sources. Responsibilities include generating basic descriptive statistics, preparing dashboards and summary tables, and supporting recurring data processes that inform institutional reporting and strategic initiatives. A core component of this role is providing analytical support to the Research Concierge Program, which is a university-wide service that provides faculty and research staff with a single point of contact to help navigate Pitt's research environment. The data analyst will support this work by preparing benchmarking metrics, basic statistical summaries, and usage data that help evaluate program effectiveness and inform service improvements. The data analyst is also expected to actively participate in meetings pertinent to the different program operations. The ideal candidate is someone who is eager to learn, highly organized, and comfortable working with data in a collaborative environment.
