Were looking for an experienced Director of Real Estate Development who understands how to bring affordable housing projects from concept to completion. Youll lead with purpose, drive impact, and work alongside a team committed to housing justice and sustainable community development. What Youll Do Lead real estate development projects from site selection to stabilization, including predevelopment, financing, construction, lease-up, and compliance. Coordinate and manage the full development lifecycle for affordable housing, including multifamily, supportive housing, and mixed-use developments. Identify and secure funding sources such as LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, and other public/private partnerships. Conduct and oversee financial modeling, feasibility studies, and risk assessments. Work cross-functionally with internal teams, municipalities, architects, contractors, and community stakeholders. Ensure projects remain on time, within budget, and aligned with the organizations mission and community needs. Requirements What Were Looking For: Proven track record of overseeing affordable housing development projects from start to finish. Deep knowledge of affordable housing finance, zoning, and regulatory requirements. Experience managing complex project budgets, timelines, and public/private financing mechanisms. Strong leadership, communication, and community engagement skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects with purpose, poise, and precision. Preferred Qualifications 7+ years in real estate development with an emphasis on affordable housing. Bachelors degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field (Masters preferred). Certifications that may strengthen your candidacy: Housing Development Finance Professional (HDFP) National Development Council Certified Housing Development Professional (CHDP) NeighborWorks LEED Accreditation for sustainable building knowledge You wont just be building housingyoull be building futures.
