Specializing in carrot production, the company caters to both retail and food service operations and is renowned for its Bolthouse Farms brand, widely distributed in major retailers across the United States and Canada.

Bolthouse Fresh Foods is a subsidiary of Butterfly Equity, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm with a specialty in the food sector. Butterfly Equity's expertise spans the entire food value chain, from 'seed to fork,' with a focus on agriculture & aquaculture, food & beverage products, food distribution, and foodservice.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the Talent Acquisition team and managing the recruitment process for the organization. This will be achieved through the development of establishing recruitment plans, applying traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new creative recruitment strategies. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring we are attracting and hiring the best possible talent. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with fellow HR team members and operational managers to ensure the successful execution of business strategies.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop and execute end-to-end recruiting plans.
  • Perform administrative duties including employee new hire paperwork as related to the hiring process.
  • Inform job applicants of details such as duties, responsibilities, compensation, etc.
  • Create job descriptions as needed.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Maintain a pool of qualified candidates.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Aid public relations in establishing a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation for the company, both internally and externally.
  • Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads.
  • Actively participate in career fairs and other related events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clients' organizational needs are met and to develop strategic programs.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Elevates employee experience through learning and development, retention strategies, succession planning and career development.
  • Solicits and listens to partners' concerns and takes an active role in resolving problems.
  • Collaborates with HR team on company strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Interpret and explain human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, affirmative action guidelines, and employment laws.
  • Assist as needed with other HR functional duties including but not limited to employee relations.
  • New Hire Training Scheduling
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3 years Recruiting experience
  • 2 years Supervisory experience
  • Valid California Driver License
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local employment laws and regulations.

Consulting with internal clients to identify business needs and recommend solutions

Required Skills And Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to interact with diverse employee population and with internal/external customers in an effective, professional matter.
  • Attention to detail including excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, pro-actively resolve challenges in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Ag and/or Manufacturing Experience
  • 5+ years Human Resources Experience
  • Experience providing consultative and collaborative advice and support to business leaders on all HR matters, not just recruitment, including employee relations, benefits, leaves and performance management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • May be required to sit or stand for an extended period of time during work period.
  • May be required to package items, lift and carry boxes up to 40 lbs.
  • May be required to walk and climb stairs

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

  • 1st shift (8:00am-5:00pm) Monday through Friday, when business require before/after hours will be mandatory.
