Meat Wrapper

Part Time

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet assist and ring out all customers politely
• Wrap cuts of meat and by pound meat carefully and within all standard health codes
• Ability to comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy and procedures and usage of equipment
• To supervise/perform organize the cooler/freezer/preparation area for receipt of merchandise verify the merchandise against the invoice inspect the delivery for shortages/damage and quality sort cases for stocking or product preparation and code-date all case items in the cooler/freezer
• Properly lift and hold various cuts of meat through a full shift extensively ensuring proper wrapping standards

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Meat Wrapper reports directly to the Meat Department Manager.

Qualifications

• Basic Mathematics (Add subtract multiply divide)
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Prior supervisory experience

Specific tasks

• Lift twist move hold and carry a maximum of 80 lbs. from the floor to shelving or overhead racks in the store and cooler/freezer
• Maintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areas
• Care for signs banners and debris from daily operations
• Accurately and efficiently handle cash debit/credit EBT/WIC coupons and vouchers
• Respond to customers coworkers and vendor questions and responses promptly and politely
• Proper usage of store phone and intercom systems
• To supervise/perform the checking of case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily utilizing the time keeping system to record each check.

Work Environment Note:

Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from backdoor/compressors/cooler/freezer/preparation area.
