Job Description

Providing occupational therapy services in a K-12 school setting, this part-time position focuses on supporting students ages 3-19 who are deaf or hard of hearing. The caseload will predominantly involve assisting with evaluations, enabling tailored support and interventions for this unique population.

Location: Lowell, MA
Duration: August 25, 2025 April 17, 2026, with potential extension based on leave coverage
Schedule: Part-time, 16 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with occupational therapy evaluations for students with hearing impairments
• Deliver OT services aligned with individual education plans
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to coordinate therapy goals
• Adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse communication needs
• Participate in professional development opportunities, including American Sign Language (ASL) lessons

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid OT licensure applicable to school-based practice
• 1-2 years of experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred
• Experience or interest in working with deaf/hard of hearing populations
• Willingness to learn ASL; school-provided ASL lessons available
