Job Description

Coterra is hiring a Pipeline Operator for our Carlsbad locations.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Pipeline Operator at Coterra, you are responsible for assisting with and performing duties related to the daily operations and maintenance of company owned pipelines including both gas and water systems. You will assist with pipeline maintenance projects such as pigging operations, start-ups, shut-downs and routine maintenance on compressors and water disposal equipment as well as other pipeline components and systems. This position is located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists with and performs pigging operations at various checkpoints on pipeline
  • Assists with and maintains dehydration systems on the pipeline
  • Monitors and assists with compressor station operations
  • Assists with and monitors various flow control equipment on gas and water systems
  • Performs preventative pipeline facility maintenance
  • Assists with troubleshooting of related subsystems, including startups, shut-downs and combustion control issues
  • Assists with and operates meter stations, pipeline facilities, disposal facilities, corrosion control and right-of-way maintenance as necessary
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Strong commitment to safety and environment
  • Established proficiency in basic computing skills including Microsoft Office Applications is required at this level
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary
  • Must be a self- starter and possess the ability to work independently
  • Must be a team player

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum - High School or GED - Position requires skills normally obtained through the completion of high school, GED or equivalent

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

1-2 years - Although this is the entry level position, some related industry experience is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is typically performed outdoors. Exposure to conditions, such as extreme heat or cold is likely. Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company vehicles and equipment. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, heavy lifting, and climbing, including steps and vertical ladders. Personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice. OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a valid state issued driver's license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. Incumbents in the position may be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings as per the DOT Regulations. Required to travel between field sites to perform daily tasks.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel required within the business unit field locations.
