PCB Design Engineer - Sunnyvale, CA

Job Description:

Meta is seeking an experienced PCB Designer to join their team in Sunnyvale, CA! As a PCB design engineer, you will be tasked with the research and development of new ideas for future products and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and development of complex detailed rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible printed circuits using CAD and CAE tools. Create component footprints in conjunction with PCB Librarian.
• Take responsibility for PCB outline and layer setup; component placement and signal routing. Interface with board fabrication vendor to select and use correct impedance rules, DFM and DFT rulesets.
• Work with hardware engineers (EE and PD), PCB designers to maintain and improve PCB design process.
• Meet challenging design deadlines of multiple layout projects. Leverage internal resources and vendors to complete design on time.
• Keep up with, and develop comprehensive knowledge of, industry standards and technologies. Proactive in implementing new PCB technologies and processes.

Minimum Requirements

• BS in EE or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of PCB design experience for rigid and flex boards
• Experience with Cadence toolsets
• Experience with Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex boards design and manufacturing
• Experience in PCB layout design constraints for mixed/RF signal, high speed signal impedance control, memory interfaces, power distribution, heat dissipation, and optimization for EMI performance
• Experience in managing and coaching CMs and PCB vendors
• Prepare fabrication notes, assembly notes, and all deliverables, such as Gerber files, drill charts, PCB assembly BOMs, and other PCB and assembly related documents required by PCB fabrication vendors to build circuit boards for prototypes and products
• Experience interpreting datasheets and schematics, generating netlists and constraints, and using schematic for layout and routing reference
• Experience with PLM systems such as Agile
• Knowledge and understanding of IPC, JEDEC, IEEE, and other electronic standards
• Experience with HDI design.
• Knowledge of multilayer PCB layout, fabrication and assembly techniques including blind/buried vias, and microvias.
