POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Crisis Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the Camden City Community Crisis Response Team (CCRT). This individual will ensure the program's mission is effectively implemented through a trauma-informed, community-based model that supports individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral health crises. The Director will play a key role in advancing the program's community partnerships, driving strategic planning, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring quality service delivery aligned with the goals of the Center for Family Services and the City of Camden Duties and Responsibilities: Provide direct oversight and leadership of all CCRT operations, including supervision of program staff, ensuring alignment with the Agency's mission and values. Oversee staff training, development, and performance, ensuring the team is equipped to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed crisis services. Coordinate regularly scheduled meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to review operations, address challenges, and ensure effective program functioning. Develop, implement, and continuously update program policies, procedures, and crisis response protocols, including operational plans, safety procedures, and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with agency standards, COA accreditation requirements, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Lead the development and execution of implementation plans in collaboration with state partners, planning consultants, training providers, and community stakeholders. This includes creating a cross-sector training plan, outreach strategy, resource and referral mapping, and mechanisms for stakeholder engagement and buy-in. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, healthcare providers (e.g., Cooper University Hospital, AHEC), community-based organizations, and faith-based institutions. Coordinate program activities with liaison agencies to ensure seamless service delivery and crisis intervention support. Monitor and evaluate crisis response outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement based on data analysis, post-crisis debriefings, and feedback from involved parties. Provide leadership in crisis communication, managing public messaging, press releases, and stakeholder updates as needed. Conduct emergency preparedness activities, including drills, simulations, and maintenance of crisis response supplies and equipment. Ensure appropriate psychological support and follow-up resources are available to individuals impacted by crisis events. Represent the program and Agency in the community and on internal committees, contributing to overall agency development and advocacy efforts. Complete all required administrative functions and program reports in a timely and accurate manner, as required by funders and agency leadership. Act as the primary point of contact during crisis events, coordinating logistics, resources, and communication among internal and external partners. Perform other duties as assigned to support program and agency success.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Human Services, Emergency Management, or a related field required; Master's Degree and licensure eligibility preferred. Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in crisis response, emergency services, or community-based behavioral health programs. At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders; 2 or more years in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations, conduct risk assessments, and develop effective response plans. In-depth knowledge of behavioral health crisis intervention principles, trauma-informed care practices, and applicable regulations. Familiarity with Camden City's communities, systems, and service landscape highly desirable. Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with experience supervising multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including flexible hours, nights, and weekends. Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including law enforcement, EMS, hospitals, shelters, and grassroots organizations. Ability to represent the program at community events, public safety meetings, and collaborative initiatives.
