SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) – OCOTILLO WELLS DISTRICT / OCOTILLO WELLS STATE VEHICULAR RECREATION AREA

Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program.  Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application.  Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKS eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub.  If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKS program).


The reporting location for this position is 5172 Highway 78, Borrego Springs, CA 92004.  This position will work under the supervision of the Superintendent II/Chief Ranger or designee at Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area.

provides support duties to the Ocotillo Wells District Law Enforcement and Emergency Services (LEES) program.  Duties will include: Equipment & Facility Maintenance, Vehicle Coordinator, Lost and Found, Radios and Batteries, Pay Shower Fee Collection and Revenue Deposit, Attendance Reporting, Forms, Public Contact, and General Support Duties.  A valid California Driver License is required for this position.  Travel to various locations and trainings will be an occasional requirement.  Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a background check will be required.  The incumbent must be a law-abiding citizen.  This position must pass an FBI Live Scan and qualify for CLETS access.  Work hours will vary; the incumbent will be required to work holidays, weekends, and special events.

This position requires a valid Class “C” Driver License and will be subject to a Live Scan fingerprint clearance.

Special Requirements

Candidates that believe they meet the Minimum qualifications based on a pattern of education from the classification description (specifications) must provide a copy of your degree/transcripts and/or license along with your application (STD. 678) to be considered for this position. Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Experience in: leadership roles, vehicle maintenance, off-highway vehicle operations, data entry, public safety, and radio communications.  Proficiency in the basic use of computers and computer software, including email and word processing.
