Job Description

An opportunity for a dedicated professional has arisen in Lowell, MA, for a contract position as a Special Education Teacher. This role is set to commence in January 2025 and will extend through the end of the school year, focusing on providing exceptional educational support to middle school students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License in Moderate Disabilities (5-8)
  • Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement
  • Previous experience in special education, particularly in middle school settings
  • Safety Care Training preferred; candidates without this training will receive it upon hire

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inclusion support and collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies.
  • Assist students in the Educational Learning Center, focusing on individual special education goals.
  • Evaluate students for eligibility and re-eligibility for special education services, generating necessary reports and documentation.
  • Chair and participate in IEP meetings, advocating for student needs and progress.

  • Lowell, MA (with potential consideration of surrounding areas)

This full-time position offers a structured schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:55 AM to 2:30 PM EST.
