JOB SUMMARYThe Medical Transcriptionist 1 transcribes dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals in order to document patient care.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLETranscribes confidential medical and non-medical dictation in prescribed formats using/operating designated computer, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to document patient care and ensure continuity in care planning activities. Accurately interprets and transcribes dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner to meet production standards and in accordance with established policies and procedures as measured in management reports.Adheres to English term usage to correctly document medical records.Obtains additional information needed to ensure complete documentation of records. Requests assistance to interpret dictation that is unclear or inconsistent, and/or makes use of professional materials in a timely manner.Interacts with physicians and internal customers in a professional and courteous manner.KEY SUCCESS FACTORSWord processing experience required.Able to type 60 wpm with 85% accuracy required.Demonstrates understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications and laboratory values.Excellent listening skills, and oral and written communication skills required.Certified Medial Transcription Certificate preferred.BENEFITSOur benefits are designed to help you live well no matter where you are on your journey.
