We are hiring a Tasting Room Manager for our vineyard tasting room location, Black Dog Vineyard, in Carlton, Oregon, the heart of wine country.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, problem solving, multi-tasking, customer service oriented team player to entertain, educate and serve guests in the tasting room as well as grow the business and location overall. This person is passionate about wine and food, but also in tune with hosting our guests with a high level of customer service. He/she would have wine knowledge or be interested in learning more about the wine and food lifestyle. Ideal candidate has management experience in the wine industry, works well as a team member and leader, can enforce standards and set boundaries. Must be organized, proactive and be able to work independently.

Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

Welcomes our guests and delivers amazing customer service
Interacts with and engages customers with expert wine knowledge
Actively pursues and achieves team/individual sales goals in the tasting room
Builds and grows business brand and location
Expands wine club
Answers emails, responds to customer inquiries, takes customer orders and tracks inventory
Maintains Tasting Room and surrounding areas to be presentable, professional and clean for our guests
Hosts guests and conducts guided wine tastings
Promotes winery and tasting room through social media
Develops, plans and executes events to grow the business
Available to work weekends and some weekdays; evenings as required for events
Places food and beverage orders with vendors
Schedules and manages team members for shifts
Handles hiring, mentoring, counseling, training and disciplinary actions for staff

Qualifications:

Expert in sales; proven ability to makes sales and upsell
5 years of experience in Winery Tasting Room or Wine Bar
5 years management experience
Proven ability to grow and build a brand/location
Proven wine club management ability and experience
Proven professional, commercial wine social media expertise (post, reels, stories, etc.)
Proactive problem solver; excels working independently
WSET Level II or equivalent
Be passionate about wine and the wine/food lifestyle
Knowledge of wine required and strong interest to learn more
Knowledge of Oregon/PNW/Portland culture, values and sense of place
Outgoing and friendly, but able to close the sale
Point of Sale (Square), Vinoshipper and Tock reservation system operational knowledge
Ability to work well in a team environment and in close working conditions with employees and customers
Management of small team
Pick-up stock items for the store and run errands
Ability to multitask and manage medium levels of stress
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Willingness to work weekends and holidays
Must be 21 years of age or older and obtain Oregon Liquor Control Commission Server's Permit prior to start of employment
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 45 pounds
Fluent English oral/written skills required
College degree required.

Interviews may be conducted via video initially. Initial training and OJT after interview and acceptance of offer. This is a random drug tested job.
