Job Overview
The Sterile Processing Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical instruments and equipment used in healthcare settings. This position involves the cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and other medical devices, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and protocols. The Sterile Processing Technician collaborates closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that all instruments are properly prepared for use in patient care.

Duties

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols.
• Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment throughout the processing cycle.
• Perform routine inspections of instruments for cleanliness and functionality, reporting any issues as necessary.
• Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock is maintained.
  Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including monitoring indicators and documenting results.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to understand specific instrument needs for various procedures.
• Stay updated on current best practices in sterile processing and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing procedures is essential.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to anatomy and physiology is preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory management practices within a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Certification in sterile processing or related field is a plus but not required.

Requirements

• Minimum a year experience required.
• Active  BLS required.
• Active  SPD Certification required.
