Job Title : Elementary School Vice Principal

Status : Full-Time/Permanent

Introduction

With its educators deeply rooted in teaching according to Apostolic Tradition, Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic School (MMR) is seeking a well-qualified Catholic Educator to serve the position of Vice Principal as the school continues in its practice of academic excellence. This full-time position will begin in August of 2025. MMR first opened its doors to the parish school in September of 2003 and now serves over 430 students in an advanced, educational environment. As a recipient of two National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Awards, along with an third Middle States Schools Accreditation, MMR School maintains a vigorous approach to academics while being fully committed to upholding Catholic practices and traditions. The school works to ensure each learner is recognized as an individual child of God, so that those talents grated by Him can become glorified in achievement and success.

Description

The Vice Principal of MMR School will be an individual selected by the Pastor upon the recommendations of the search committee. The Vice Principal will serve as a member of the parish staff and will be directly responsible to the Pastor and Principal for the performance of all responsibilities delegated to the administrative position. The primary responsibility of the Vice Principal will be to support the Catholic identity of the school so that it is not only present, but apparent to all who encounter members of the school and student body. Management of staff members will be essential in continuing to provide the best Catholic educators who model all the virtues cherished by the school. Additionally, it will be the duty of the Vice Principal to work toward continued academic excellence for the student body through a knowledge of appropriate, applicable, and accountable curriculum and instruction practices.

Position Requirements

The Vice Principal:

• will be a practicing Catholic as indicated by the Pastor of his/her parish of registration.
• will hold a Master’s Degree in Education.
• will preferably have a minimum of five years of instructional experience along with school-related responsibilities
• will be able to demonstrate strong communicative skills both in writing and presentation
• will be professional in appearance and action
• will be able to express a vision for the future of Catholic education on the local level
• will be active with faculty and staff to maintain a strong and cohesive body
• will be directly communicative with school families
• will be able to multi-task as needed in the matter of school issues
• will be able to represent the school in a positive manner with the Office of Catholic Education and other professional entities
• will be able to perform additional duties, as needed, that pertain directly to the school philosophy and mission, as well as those of the parish
