Nissan. Onsite, San Diego. Contract W2 role. Exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Automotive Exterior Designer to join our innovative team! This position is located in San Diego, CA. Key Responsibilities: Develop compelling two-dimensional designs for future Nissan and Infiniti vehicle exteriors. Create original and innovative sketches, digital illustrations, visual 3D models, and renderings to effectively communicate design concepts. Collaborate with the 3D modeling team to translate exterior designs into detailed three-dimensional forms while ensuring compliance with engineering parameters. Engage with Engineering and Design Leadership to devise proposals that are feasible for production. Thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple projects, where your creativity and responsibility are valued. Create visually impactful presentations, clearly communicating your design proposals both visually and verbally. Stay updated on trends and technological advancements in American and international automotive design, as well as relevant regulations. Willingness to work outside standard hours when necessary to collaborate with global teams. Occasional travel to domestic, regional, or international locations may be needed. Minimum Qualifications: Your portfolio must include a URL showcasing at least four automotive exterior design projects featuring innovative and complex shapes. Skills Required: Ability to produce excellent sketches and communicate design concepts effectively. A strong aesthetic sense and ability to tell a visual story are crucial. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Autodesk Alias, Sub-D, VRED, and VR tools. Familiarity with Blender, Microsoft PowerPoint, and MS Office is also required. Creativity in generating new design ideas that resonate with brand identity. Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in an automotive design studio. Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Transportation Design or Industrial Design is essential. Optional Skills: Experience with video creation in After Effects is a plus for enhancing presentations. OPT candidates with a minimum of one year remaining on their visa are welcome to apply.
