Position Summary Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Development (Entry-Level). SCITON is an equal employment opportunity employer. Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr Base pay range (SCITON provided) This range is provided by SCITON. What You’ll Do Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical components and assemblies for laser systems. Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, manufacturing, and industrial design teams. Use 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks or similar) to model parts and generate engineering drawings. Perform hands-on prototyping using tools, shop equipment, and 3D printers. Support design reviews, testing, and documentation of product development activities. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement of existing products. Research and recommend materials, components, and manufacturing methods. Maintain organized project documentation and records in line with company procedures. Essential Requirements For The Role Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Internship, academic, or personal project experience in mechanical or product design. Strong interest in hands-on work—comfortable in a lab or prototyping shop. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). Basic understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and fabrication techniques. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Self-starter with a high level of curiosity and motivation to learn and grow. Bonus: Experience with laser systems, medical devices, or electromechanical assemblies. Compensation And Benefits The salary range for this position is $90k - $120k.
