We are looking to add a highly motivated Tasting Room Food & Beverage Manager to our talented team at our Goldendale Tasting Room & Bistro. Successful candidates will provide exceptional service in supporting our efficiently run high-volume culinary operation ensuring our guests receive the best food quality possible as part of an immersive wine-tasting experience. This position offers the opportunity for growth and will begin as full-time. The Tasting Room Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Tasting Room while demonstrating superior customer service and employee relations. He/she directly supervises the tasting room staff, main Tasting Room, and Reserve Room while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the winery’s policies and applicable laws. Additionally, your high level of motivation, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement will ensure your success in meeting deadlines and driving excellence in your work. Responsibilities: Manage tasting room floor operations which include but are not limited to maintaining housekeeping standards, opening and closing procedures including cash handling, maintaining accurate pricing in the POS system and overseeing structure and pricing of the tasting menu, forwarding needed updates to the Marketing Dept. Effective achievement of retail sales goals. Supervise Tasting Room and Bistro employees in all aspects of sales and service to deliver outstanding results. Inventory management. Conversion of guests to wine club members. Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and mentor staff. Plan, execute, and achieve retail sales forecasts through tasting room activities and events open to club members and the public. Perform or assist in the ordering of inventory and retail supplies. Perform costing analysis on retail merchandise and verify food costing. Oversee all tasting room shipping & receiving. Execute or oversee the month-end inventory process. Assist with hospitality duties, such as VIP tastings, press interviews, Club Events, and tasting programs. Occasionally represent the brand in the market at wine events. Other tasks as assigned by Maryhill Winery ownership. Requirements and Skills: Must be at least 21 years of age. Minimum of 2-4 years supervisory experience, ideally Tasting Room Management or relative restaurant/hospitality management. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Flexible with scheduling. Microsoft computer & Excel skills. Excellent Email etiquette and communication essential. Knowledge of wine, wine culture or relative industry background. Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Accurate cash handling and reporting necessary. Proven food and beverage management experience. Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently. Mastery in delegating multiple tasks. Communication and leadership skills. Up to date with food and beverage trends and best practices. Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets. Guest-oriented and service-minded. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and ability to bend, twist, and lift items up to 40 lbs. Compensation: Competitive salary $72,000.00 plus commissions.
